It is important to have a basic understanding of computer technology. Regardless of the career choice, we can benefit from knowledge of computer. Even if your job does not require you to work directly with a computer, this knowledge may help you to envision new ways of using computers in your work, resulting in a more productive work environment. This can also lead to career advancement opportunities. Computers are popping up in places and professions that may seem unlikely. So IIPS accords itself with the importance of computers and hence the curriculum is based on the total development of computer knowledge in the students.

IIPS prides itself on having a fully equipped state – of- the-art computer lab, where each student has an individual Pentium IV computer with LCD monitors to work on. The networking enables the sharing of files and programs. The lab is fitted with an Epson projector and a wall screen, which facilitates projecting the main monitor’s image on to the large screen. Students can also see their work printed on both laser and ink-jet printers. All in all, it is dream place for a child to explore the possibilities of the wonder that is COMPUTER!!!!!!!!

The curriculum for the students has been set up in such a way that it develops a strong foundation of computer knowledge. Students have computer classes right from the beginning of their schooling i.e from lower kindergarten whereby they are taught how to work on a computer in a play way method. They are given educational software which are very interactive and are related to their learning in the class. This makes their learning very interesting. There is advancement in the educational programs as their grades ascend.

Programming concepts are introduced in the primary sections with the help of flow charts. This helps them to be well versed with the process of logically solving the problem. Simple programming language called LOGO is taught to the primary grades so that they become familiar with programming. The students are also taught to work in Windows operating system. They are also trained in MS-office whereby they are to work in the word processors as MS-Word, in spreadsheets as MS-Excel and also to create various presentations using MS-PowerPoint. They are also taught to work in Internet, whereby they come to know how to have their own Email Id and how to access it.

The programming level is slowly increased to QBasic as they enter into the middle school level. This gives them knowledge of the basic format of most of the programming language like how to use a variable, a constant, the various data types and operators and how to use the looping and control statements. They are also made to learn the working of databases with MS-Access.

The higher grades are now ready to be working with the complex programming language as C++ which is based on the Object oriented programming concept. The syllabus is based on the CBSE pattern.

Computers are wonderful tools. They help us work more productively, they provide new opportunities for communication and education, and they can be entertaining. So we strive to make our students face the advancing modern world of computers waiting for them outside the campus.
